Skills like coding, painting, playing guitar, accounting, etc. are of no use if you don’t have problem solving skills.
What I realised is that I need problem solving skills more than coding skills.
One day I was scrolling Facebook and came across a screenshot of a reddit post that described how to vibe code at 0 dollars. The guy says how he likes making product and had been spending to dollars on ChatGPT to create products. He goes on to say that is was way cheaper than hiring a developer but he finally found a way to vibe code completely without any cost.
Then it hit me. The main skill is problem solving, not coding. That’s what separates employees from employers.
The world needs problems solvers. After problem solvers come highly skilled people.
Both are interdependent on each other.
Steve Jobs got the work done. That was his biggest power.
There are two types of people, one who finds the problems and starts solving it and finds other people to solve it, and the one who helps other people solve the problem they found.
The one who finds the problem and starts solving it is usually the entrepreneur.
So what can one do?
- Just start to think of how you can solve simple problems. For example:
- How can you make a homemade pick for guitar?
- How can you transport water without a water bottle?
- How can you trim nails without a nail cutter?
